Quick measure should have scalar operators .eg if I want to multiple a column with a fixed variable1 vote
A COUNTIF is sorely missed in DAX.
(The workaround with CALCULATE and FILTER is too cumbersome and complex for most users)5 votes
I have an r script to exports a staging query of historical data to CSV. This works fine in power bi desktop. It would be great if this was capable once published. Currently get zero errors, however no export to be found.
I am trying to use this to retain past power bi refresh history as the API is only returning recent results.9 votes
Fixed Width: 0,3
Only the first row is imported.
Currently we can sort (asc/dsc) vertically in columns in power query. I would like to apply a sort across multiple columns row by row based on selected columns. I do have a business case for this with financial dimensions in D365FO.1 vote
Text wrapping on a line-by-line basis within Advanced Editor. Currently you have to manually enter a carriage return and tab it over to format.4 votes
I often get requests that are derivates of already released reports, but require small tweaks, such as a new dimension to be added to answer. Being able to add composite table to a live data set connection would enable me to more effectively re-use my work, as I wouldn't have to start my project in an already complex pbix file. just a live connection, a look up table an a blank canvas.18 votes
If you have a long list of unstructured values, greating groups can be laborious and potentially needs revisiting when the data refreshes. It would be nice if the 'create group' feature could have an automation feature to auto-group either by exact match or fuzzy match. Even a simple keyword search to filter the values in the left pane would help to speed up the process of creating groups manually.3 votes
Just recreate the Parameter functionality in Tableau.. where an end user can pick a value from the parameter selection, and have a column update it's value based on the selection.
Right now you can only change the value of measures by a slicer / what if parameter, and we really need to be able to let users determine the value of columns.1 vote
It seems as though there is a performance benefit to query runtime when manually adding keys which currently has to be done in M
This may be particularly true when creating a join on a csv, for example, where a foreign key may vastly improve performance.
Please allow us to do this in the UI rather than needing to modify the M behind a table1 vote
In the Query Editr, add the merged column after the column where I currently am, and not at the end of the table
After mergin columns is adding the column at the end.
This adds another step, to move the column to the right place.
Would be possible to select the position of the new column, by clicking on a column and then clicking on Merge.
The new column will be then added after the column we currently are.1 vote
In some circumstances, it's not desirable for data to be excluded from a visual because for some of its fields there is no data. The 'Show Items With No Data' feature mitigates this but enabling it causes refresh to take MUCH longer - too long to be acceptable to my users. An alternative is an option for PBI to automatically generate unknown members in tables that the user creates relationships for. Any textual fields would default to '(Unknown)' in this case.1 vote
For the Column Profiling it would be nice to see the distribution of Number Data Types in a histogram based on the Number as an axis, rather than the Count of Occurrences on the axis.1 vote
We use SSAS tabular data cubes to power our PowerBI visualization. The same information can be obtained by connecting to the data cubes via excel to pivot the information inside of our cubes. However, our customers often say would be great to be able export the data used directly from the PowerBI charts.
I would like to tell them yes they can pull the data directly from the visualizations in PowerBI with their pro license.1 vote
I agree with everyone who says the new data profiling is great. Can you extend it's capability by allowing us to chose to save the metrics, perhaps to Excel or a SQL Server table, so that we can use that historical data to build Power BI reports against the data showing a kind of data quality improvement over time?1 vote

Adding a phone number as a data type or category so that Power BI can easily interact and manipulate phone numbers into different display formats
(123) - 456 - 7890
And treat all the same so that if a user searches using one of those formats, no matter how the data is actually stored that it can find anyone of them.
Could also map the area code to geographical locations too3 votes
The limitation of having one option to export data frustrates our desktop customer base as we look to add Power BI to our reporting toolkit. Please include the export option for Excel that exists within the Pro and Premium versions. The added steps needed to convert the csv file to an xlsx becomes a training issue and is time consuming for our end users.2 votes
Even though the Data tab isn't made to visualize data, it's sometimes very useful to organize the columns in a specific order. Sometimes, I create columns after others, but would like to see them before. This is possible to do but very complicated - would there be a way to create a quick functionality to switch column positions easily ?
- Don't see your idea?
