Hierarchical Axis Improvements
When a date field is used as the x-axis in a bar chart (in a hierarchy format, with concatenate labels turned off), I can click the "Expand all down one level in the hierarchy" drilling button to drill down into the hierarchy, and all items at the next level are grouped nicely into their parent labels, as shown in this video:
It would be great if this functionality extended to other hierarchies as well, and not just dates.
Currently, we can add categorical fields to a bar chart and then add a date hierarchy at the very end and we'll get this presentation (so we know it's possible), but then we have a date hierarchy included in the drill down for the visual, and it doesn't make sense to have that in context of the visuals we're working with.
We'd like to be able to create this nice hierarchical presentation with non-date hierarchies.
An edit here... we got it to work by sorting each level of the hierarchy ascending by the x-axis field at that level. However, this was not an intuitive solution, as some lower levels already appeared to be sorted ascending by the field at that level. Clicking the field again in the sort menu seems to have worked though, but this isn't intuitive, and took us quite a while to figure out.
