Allow Pro Users to Publish RDL files from Report Builder
The current version of the report builder can only be published by premium capacity accounts. It would be awesome to include this feature for pro users as well and allow us to add paginated reports to our apps we develop. We have a flat organizational structure and tend to use power BI for clients. We all have pro licenses but there is not much sense to buy premium capacity at this time. However, having this feature would be a huge benefit to everyone using power bi under pro accounts.
As an SME, we're horrified to discover after we've migrated from SBS2008 ecosystem to O365, SPO and PBI Pro, that paginated reports aren't available without paying $5k a month for Premium license. These reports are crucial to our small business and we have 10 years worth of RDL already written, which now can't be published on SPO, and can't be recreated in PBI Pro as they're not supported. This really should be a basic offering and we're having to install Report Builder on every client that needs to run these paginated reports, which is a crude and inefficient workaround that flies in the face of the elegance of what Power BI is meant to be offering.
We cant justify paying $5,000/mth for a simple quarterly report that gets sent 4 times a year. Hopefully the licensing structure will allow pro license.
I would love to use report builder at our organization, as paginated reports are our primary method for client reporting. Such a shame we can't run under pro!
Got my vote. Becomes a strange offering without Report Builder - ie Pro can build dashboards, craft data from almost anywhere, but not build a standard report????
+1. For a small company like where I work (<50 employees), we have Power BI Pro but can't possibly justify a Premium license.
Report builder is great for flexible layouts. It is not possible to build formatted multy page reports using PowerBi visuals and quite often business just needs static but automated report to run and email at the end of the day. Not being able to runn SSRS style reports after business made investment in PowerBI seems like step backwards. Price of $5000 per month can be prohibitive comparing to having SQL server with SSRS on premises.
Are you aware of some way to automate these reports so we can run them periodically. Currently It is very hard to convince business users to pay premium so they can send automated emails to users.

I agree. It makes no sense to require Premium capacity for Paginated reports. It seems arbitrary and a simple money grab.
This will slow PowerBI adoption and put Tableau in a stronger position in our organization.
