Option to use either light or dark interface.
New Desktop app update installed an almost white user interface. There is zero contrast which is not good for the eyes. I see where some people have requested a light interface so incorporate an option to select either light or dark theme like in the Office apps.
This is on our roadmap but we don’t have a specific timeline to share at this point. We’ll update this when we have more details!
The user interface is too white, it strains the eyes and doesn't encourage to use it
This is just sooooo stupid. Why not have an option to switch so everyone can choose what suits them best? I would LOVE to be able to choose and I would choose the dark background. Only if I could..
Another vote to have the option to 'switch' rather than change please
Am I the only person here who actually thinks the new theme is better ? lol

I was told this would be done in the next release back in June. Support had me reinstall Power BI Desktop again for no reason. If you look at the app in the App Store it shows the original Black background. Please please please bring back the black background.
Please add the dark theme to power BI ><"
PLEASE !!!!! BACK TO DARK THEME !!!!!!!
My eyes cannot take the strain, and the quality of the image when looking at data tables is TERRIBLE !!!
Please go back to the DARK THEME NOW !!!

Any update on when this would be deployed? It is really hard to develop with the all-white screen. We have to dim down the monitors to reduce eye-strain.
Please, make a dark theme!!!! My eyes are burning!!! Almost all my desktop is dark!!!

For those suffering on Windows, until MS fixes it, you can use an app called Negative Screen that effectively inverts your screen colors. (no i am not its creator). i use it all the time and it helps my eyes alot. its not the same thing, of course, but it does help against the brightness and helps you work long hours without feeling like you stare at the sun

Please, keep this one on the backlog, and SOLVE ACTUAL FRONT FACING ISSUES FIRST! There are a ton of long-outstanding great ideas that would improve platform adoption by allowing developers to land AWESOME, NOT AT ALL HALF-BACKED reports. The gray interface does not affect my consumers nearly as much as does my lack of an ability to alter in a programmable way: element visibility & interactivity, all aspects of fonts (size, layout, style, alignment, etc), axis range and sizing, displayed measure titles, label positioning & visibility, page visibility based on user context, dashboard style at tile level, tile click response actions, and URL display text. This is my laundry list of "why is this still not a thing in PowerBI?!!" just from yesterday.

Just when dark mode is becoming a strong design trend, what with Apple coming up with a dark mode on their iPhones, Google going the same way with their Pixels, Microsoft chooses to strip the dark mode and impose a blinding white theme in Power BI.
Seriously? At least offer the 2 choices and let users decide. It's beyond me why nobody in the development team didn't think this through.
Please please, like someone said, the grey interface is HURTING my eyes. :'(

Please bring back the dark interface
I would upvote but I don't want email notifications or to subscribe to anything. I just want the dark UI back
Please add this back as an option!! I would really love to use some of the new features released since the May update where the dark interface was last available!
Why in the world is this 'on the roadmap' when it used to HAVE a dark mode? Literally broke usability and now making it usable is 'on the roadmap' - WHAT?

Please prioritize this feature.
This is not just an usability issue, but also an user adoption issue.
I have to delay the adoption of Power BI because of this.
I kindly ask you to provide an option: black/ white. ASAP. btw. There is no consistency in MS apps.
