I know this is piling on, but it's early November 2019 and as far as I know there are no updates on this issue. So...
I think we all understand the need to license products and for Microsoft to profit from development and support. But the current situation leaves no way forward for smaller organizations. There is a gigantic financial gap between staying with legacy SSRS and moving to Power Bi Paginated Reports. I believe smaller clients would be fine with paying for a new level of individual license above Pro if it was a small dollar bump and provided paginated report functionality. And I also believe Microsoft would reap a nice reward with the many thousands of licenses that would result. So, maybe Pro Plus for $12.95/mo?
I think Microsoft has done a fantastic job providing these types of tools to the 'bottom of the pyramid' thus far. I hope this particular issue can be solved to continue this nice tech run.

There are some very important, mandatory requirements for reports printed on several pages. I've managed to prepare data with ETL and now I can create the reports in Report Builder (nice tool). Now I need to distribute the results. Premium is for 100 users not an option. Please make it available

Have Pro licensed under E5 for 8000+ users , dificult to justify premium just for this capability (although its much needed to replace other tools we use)

the management of my company ask me paginated report on powerbi service, but unfortunately we are a small company and we can't justify $5K per month. Please give us the possibilities to have this. whith the same price of pro-licence or little bit more

Please make it with Pro licence.....it is too expensive to have premium. It is not economically viable

Needed badly for Pro user

Power BI by itself is not enough to meet the needs of our organization, the capabilities of paginated reports (i.e., SSRS) is required. However, it does not make economical sense for us to spend $5K per month for Power BI Premium when we can simply keep our on-premises Enterprise SQL Server Enterprise licensing and run Power BI Report Server internally at less cost. If the 8 cores and 25 GB of memory provided with Power BI Premium included an actual dedicated SQL instance in addition to the Power BI Premium service that would make the decision to go to premium more palatable. Another option might be to include paginated reports with Power BI Pro at a slightly higher cost than the normal $9.99 per user. I think the latter option would be best for the Power BI / SSRS community while still allowing Microsoft to recoup the cost of the development of "SSRS" like functionality online.

Most of my customers are under 600 users ROI for Premium capacity. So Paginated reports is a must have to complete the Powe rBi ecosystem.

Come on Microsoft, have your Premium product with some wow features that some people will pay extra to have. But paginated reports, really? This is your bread and butter, I could only imagine use and sales of PowerBI Service increasing by making this a Pro feature. Please somebody in marketing research do the math!

This is a great product!
Along with Power Bi an Excellent product! The only problem now is that we miss out on Paginated reports due to a PRO licence and can not utilise the great features of the Power Bi data set for reporting.

Because orgs that are considering SSRS as "free" (SQL server shops) and want to move their paginated reports to Power BI should have an entry point option lower than Premium to consider.

This should be available to Pro, because paginated reports is a core functionality for all organizations, not a premium feature which enterprises are interested.
Initially, it can be allowed to publish paginated reports to non-premium datasets, thus other pro users can execute them and export to PDFs. If MS thinks that scheduled mails shouldn't be free, then you can also charge them by pay per use. I think it will cover most business scenarios (with or without the need for scheduled reports) and will be a win-win case.

well, in order to have more people use your platform, you should know you have to grant more functions (the things they need) for people to use it, in order to compete with other competitor...

Can we get an update on the status of this?

And please change the name to SSRS 2, SSRS BI, SSRS Deux etc...
I also agree it makes it difficult to make the full shift when a client asks about all of the SSRS Reports they currently have, and what will happen to them.
No one likes trying to re-create an SSRS report in Power BI

This would be great to have with pro liceneses since Qlik has NPrinting available. We currently use Qlik but are looking at Power BI.

It makes no sense that this so useful and legacy feature of SSRS is only available premium capacity. This has been one of the most demanding requirements of business areas, especially areas that still deal with information at a managerial level and not just as strategic with existing dynamic dashboards. Apparently this is not so much a question of technical feasibility, as functionality exists in Premium, but a strategic and commercial issue of Microsoft. I ask for careful analysis on the subject.
