How can we improve Power BI?

Stop Dataset refresh

Please provide option to stop refreshing dataset after refreshing manually...

If there are any performance issues in database this would lock down the table...

I even observed that reports doesnt get published until the refresh is done...

Definitely need this option added. Stuck for over an hour waiting for a refresh to finish and when it did it was due to a dataset error. Wishing I could have killed the refresh before I lost over an hour of time.

Please yes. For whatever reason, something that takes 5 minutes to refresh will take over an hour if it hits an error. Meanwhile, you have your hands tied unable to take any action while every stakeholder is waiting for you.

Microsoft can you please add this function. We have reports that get stuck and take out all the resources at the data source end

I think this would be useful. In our case, we are troubleshooting a Microsoft connector that is currently making too many API calls to our MAP in too short a period of time.

When you add the connector, it immediately begins pulling in data. It would be nice to have some way to stop it from making those calls if there's indications/notifications from our MAP that it's making too many requests. (So we can stop it -- troubleshoot -- and then run it again.)

I'd like to see this as I have cases where the dataset refresh is somehow blocking all the other schedule refreshes

I had an issue with wifi conection and it's taking now 45 minutes when normally it only takes 15 minutes max.

I am upvoting. My concern may be slightly different, but based on the number of Refresh recommendations, I'm not the only one struggling.

When I use the "Query Editor" to build new data sources or change queries, etc, it can take an hour to get all my data imported properly. When I hit "Close & Apply" to return to the report, it force an entire refresh of the stuff I just refreshed. I could report development a lot faster if I didn't have to do double refreshes all the time. Need option to allow report to use what it already has in the Query Editor so we can get to work.
