Passing Parameters to Power BI through Stored Procedure
There Should be Provision of passing the Parameter to the report like we do in SSRS Reports. There should be any method to execute Stored Procedure by passing the Parameters
Yes, it's a must-have functionality we will need in Power BI asap. Hopefully, it's on your roadmap.
This is quite a basic requirement from any client to dynamically query data based on paramaters provided... Can the Power BI Team at Microsoft take this as priority please
I have started shifting my reports to power bi but due to lack of this process that we can't pass parameters to stored procedures like we are doing in SSRS is unbelievable, it should be from the beginning, we are waiting for this updates.

This is a needed feature as we will be replicating our SSRS reports which use a number of Stored Procedures which use Parameters.
This is the key feature when using direct queries, which is missing today to pass the parameters to SP's. Also, take advantage of SQL Objects rather than user queries.
competitors are providing this basic feature since the beginning.
It's been ~5 years PBI came out and still missing this feature.
YES NEED THIS
Yes, we really need this. Is it on the roadmap?

This is absolutely needed. With the increasing amount of data in the databases, we need to be able to filter data at the source dynamically. You build one stored procedure, one report, and pass dynamic parameters through URL to get what you want. It's so simple, it should have been there from the start.
And please allow parameter types other than Text to work in the Query editor, it is very frustrating that the queries fail when you try to pass a date or INT value, the only solution currently is to rewrite the SPs...
Can't believe this isn't a feature since it has been in SSRS for years.

Lol. Vote on all the duplicate threads as per below. 'the noisy wheel...'
Every other reporting platform can do it! Even my Grandma can do it :)
Cant believe by now it still not possible to use slicers and pass the value to parameter.
@Rose Spitzer Is there any update on this feature? Please let us know!
This is absolutely essential, I am not sure why this has not been done till now

This would be handy to have. Currently I need to create view via Table Valued UDF and query the view.
I support 'Power BI Online Query Parameters' - what do you think? https://ideas.powerbi.com/forums/265200-power-bi-ideas/suggestions/13820190-power-bi-online-query-parameters
I frequently have to explain to our users why if Power BI Report Server is built on the SSRS engine they cannot pass parameters to a report to dynamically fetch new data sets. I don't have a good answer for them, other than "that's what Microsoft created."
Why is this such a hard feature to add? It should work just like it does on the SSRS reports hosted on that web portal.

There is a lot of duplication of Posts for this - I really hope we do see this idea in the future, in the meantime this Idea (20367082) should be seen as the main one spearheading this!
