Online Report Edition resets visual interactions to default
In Power BI when editing online a report with your own customized visual interactions, those interactions customizations are all lost, after saving it.
The scenario can be tested by editing a report and then saving it. The strange thing is that after saving the report, the interactions still works properly, but if you visualize other reports or refresh the browser, when you check back your saved report, the custom visual interactions have been reset to the default values.
You can watch the following animated gif, that shows the reported problem.

Just running into this issue now as I'm new to PBI. Has there been any update on this defect?
Would be great to get an update on the status of this?

Same issue here, in both Desktop and PBI Service.
I now spend more time fiddling with interaction settings than I do building visualizations or models. Something wrong with this picture.
This is a prominent issue for us as well.
Quite some effort goes into setting up a report and ensuring that the various visualisations (including slicers, tables, etc.) interact in an intuitive way for the end users. For example, selecting a date range in a slicer would filter a table and a couple of charts showing various low level information, but would be set up to not filter the chart showing an overall 12 month trend.
We would much prefer the visualisation interaction settings to be saved with the report so it always behaves as intended for the end users. Most of the end users are senior managers who have little to no experience in report design and do not understand the structure of the data model, so it is important that what they see and how it interacts is what the report designer intended.

I have the exact same issue in Power BI Desktop.
If i click between two visuals multiple times it reset the interaction to default ("hightlight").
I agree that this should be a big priority ! This reset is very annoying.
I am currently using many measures with all(...) within calculate to bypass the issue.

It is hard to stay in this not stable and non-predictable environment, without any commitment, that the problem will be solved soon. Furthermore it is very strange that PBI team work on the new functionalities, without solving the bugs, that haven't any workarounds. How to communicate to the end users, that by design it just doesn't work! The problems like this undermine the idea that Power BI is, or will be a great tool. I hope that you have enough resources, considering the short version updates, but you have to put more resources and high priority on the stability, not only to the voted ideas. The problems aren't ideas to vote!
I really like the gamification in the workplace, but productive environment is not a game and I really insist to give us the date when this will be done.
Just looking at the resolution and this is by design (didn't say a good design...just by design).
"Interactions are cross-highlights which we don't save to the report - they are transient state. Slicer and filter selections however are persisted with the report on save and see that behavior in the gif. Therefore you lose the cross=highlighting state."
I will move this to the idea's forum for consideration for change in future versions
Hi Charles, where can I refer to the Defect 8313910? is there a bug list page where I can find it back and look at the status? It's really a major issue also for us and I see that Pedro reported on it around 2 months ago. I should expect that it is solved but I'm actually experiencing just the same now! it's really impossible to go in Production with this problem, please let us know what is Microsoft doing to solve this?
Can be addressed by editing the report in PBI online and re-saving, but have to constantly check and re-check all reports especially if making other edits as the interaction settings seem to reset sometimes after making unrelated changes to a report, even without opening the affected tab.
Major issue for us when building multiple visuals across multiple pages in Power BI Desktop only to publish the report to Power BI Online and find all the interactions have changed!
Majorly affecting usability

This is a big issue for us as well. Unpredictable report behavior can't be presented to end-users.
We also facing this problem, we were not able to capture this problem as Pedro. But this problem is a real problem in rolling out Power within our organization. It looks like saving the visual interactions are not saved correctly
Thanks for the great report filed as defect:
