Allow Table and Matrix Data Exports to Match PowerBI Visual
I have volumes of information to share with my teams that is best presented in tables and matrices. It would be a huge improvement if they were able to export the data from the visualizations and have the formatting in Excel match the formatting created within PowerBI.
This would be especially helpful for ongoing forecasting activities.
Thanks for your feedback on this issue – while we’d like to enable this, there is currently no timetable around doing so. There is the option as a workaround the create a paginated view as a drillthrough of the visual and have a formatted version you can export to Excel, but understand this isn’t a solution everyone can take advantage of currently.

This is exactly what we need in my office. We frequently need to download small amounts of data into Excel for further analysis or processing into a slightly different output format for internal sharing/communication that cannot be achieved with the visualization as is. The current "export" function gives us the entire database which I do not need, I just need exactly what I see from the visualization as is i.e. what you get is what you see - this is what I want please.
Not having this feature is threatening to derail our adoption of Power BI as our analysis/reporting tool.

This should have been a main feature since the matrix was created. We need this yesturday.
Build now. I have users that need this.
Must have! This is very frustrating to present a data table that includes calculations to senior leadership and then them not being able to export the table and manipulate this data. I now get to build these tables out twice and redirect the audience to two different sources. I know competing tools have this function so they thought their audience had a need.
As adaption grows this is becoming a bigger issue as the same work has to be done twice. People want to export what they see on the screen.
Exporting a matrix AS a matrix is pretty "duh" guys. Come on.

I agree, having this feature can make or break company adoption of this product. It is a must have!
Being able to export crosstab data is a MUST HAVE.
Not just from Matrix visual but from any visual for that matter. Tableau does that beautifully.
Absence of this feature is seriously limiting the adoption of Power BI.

It's a must HAVE!!
Our Company is growing and so we need both possibilities.
Thanks for helping!
It's a must Have, it's a shame to not having knowing that it's the same company.

Can someone from the power bi team provide an status update on this? I am totally confused how the vote system works? This has 450 comments with huge demand and when the monthly feature update is shared I see items that get deployed that had maybe 20 votes. Also it has sat in backlog forever.
The community really wants this move up in priority, but at a minimum an update as to when this is expected to move off of backlog would be great.
Seems like it shouldn't be that difficult to add.

Why would this even be in a Backlogged state! Its a must have!
This is a must have functionality! It's really timeconsuming for end-users to build up the pivot again, while they already have it in Power BI.
Is there someone from MS that can give feedback on when this is going to be picked up and available? Clearly alot of users want this functionality.

This feature is essential to export the matrix, and layout should be in sync, we put in effort to build the matrix, but unable to download is a downside
