Allow Table and Matrix Data Exports to Match PowerBI Visual
I have volumes of information to share with my teams that is best presented in tables and matrices. It would be a huge improvement if they were able to export the data from the visualizations and have the formatting in Excel match the formatting created within PowerBI.
This would be especially helpful for ongoing forecasting activities.
Thanks for your feedback on this issue – while we’d like to enable this, there is currently no timetable around doing so. There is the option as a workaround the create a paginated view as a drillthrough of the visual and have a formatted version you can export to Excel, but understand this isn’t a solution everyone can take advantage of currently.
Please assist in add this function to Power BI Desktop.
It's necessary for end users.
If we need to organize data again , then why do we need Power BI?
Maybe just using excel is fine...
Looking forward to receiving a good news.
Please add this feature soon!

Since PBI is a tool for data consumption, can this function be escalated? I mean, I'm pretty sure no one wants to build an additional paginated report. I absolutely do not.
Most all other BI tools allow this (for good reason). Please, help make our (Developers) life easier.
please, please, please, please, please include this function!

Definitely need this to be functional for the end user!
Agree! Please fix, very annoying to have to reformat data back to table format for end users.

Probably the most needed feature in Power BI IMO. This would make it so much easier for the end user if they want to play with the data or do analysis. Please fix this!
I need to export data which is based on a primary key. I don't want the key exported, but if I don't include it I get a reduced dataset.
Yes, I can hide it in the visual but it is there on export (The visual is a table and there are too many rows to completely display on a visual - it must be exported). The inability to stop the key column from exporting means that several other editing steps are required before forwarding the data to its final destination.
As a vba programmer, this is such an easy fix. Why is this so difficult to implement after so many years?

Unacceptable that this is not even in the roadmap! I understand trying to push towards analysis in power bi but Microsoft you must understand as long as excel exists users will want reports in excel. Also analyze in excel does not always work for every use case!
Please reconsider for 2020!
Please fix this... I have drill-through on my matrix, and I want the data exported to match the current level of drill-through... instead of just defaulting too the most drilled in level.
Please make the data export match what is displayed on the visual !!!
not having this requirement is a huge setback for some team in my company, they need to download into excel for some reason and you guys invent excel long before pbi... :P

This is my number 1 requested feature and should have a timetable! Although all these new visuals are great and exciting, the vast majoirty of reports will include a matrix / table, so this should be a high priority item!
is this funciton development so difficult, 3 years

Qlik had this back in 2014 on like Qlikview version 11... I want to like PowerBI, it has much potential, but the fact that it is missing this feature is crazy. Most my users are in finance (Excel addicts) and this is a huge turn off for adoption.
I join the chorus of so many voices requesting export of matrix data and more generally better integration with other office suite. Power Bi is a very powerful tool for analyzing data but we need also to be able to use and share such results. A stand alone tool simply becomes a toy to show beautiful colored charts. If you don't implement extensive export functionalities I will soon move to other BI tools, regretting have spent so much time in learning PBI.

Rightly said in the previous comments that the lack of this feature is a hindrance in the efforts to drive PBI adoption in the company. I am facing the same issue. We definitely need a feature to download the matrix format data as is to show in excel. This is a very basic feature very much in demand and I am waiting to see a timeline for it's inclusion in PBI.

This is a must especially for desktop users only!

So strange this isn't a feature, how are we meant to promote PBI within our companies if it lacks such basic functionality
Please fix this. A basic requirement needed by all the Finance users

This is a must and customers are rejecting pbi due to this. The bigger BI tools can export, and you guys own Excel.... please fix asap!
