Allow Table and Matrix Data Exports to Match PowerBI Visual
I have volumes of information to share with my teams that is best presented in tables and matrices. It would be a huge improvement if they were able to export the data from the visualizations and have the formatting in Excel match the formatting created within PowerBI.
This would be especially helpful for ongoing forecasting activities.
Thanks for your feedback on this issue – while we’d like to enable this, there is currently no timetable around doing so. There is the option as a workaround the create a paginated view as a drillthrough of the visual and have a formatted version you can export to Excel, but understand this isn’t a solution everyone can take advantage of currently.
Business users in every company really want this feature. This seems to be a major drawback when selecting BI solutions.

Not having this feature creates a substantial amount of more work for myself and my team - every day. This feature is a must-have and I am really surprised that this has not been picked up yet. - This vote goes back to 2016?!?! - How many votes does it need for this important feature to be developed?
Any progress on reviewing this idea?
Copy selection works, with the entire table selected however if the table/matrix has not loaded all rows to the visual (eg. until after you scroll to the bottom of all records) then not all rows are copied.

This is my end users biggest issue with PowerBI. They can see the table they want to display in other reports/presentations but have to spend ages reworking the data after exporting it. Please hurry up and release an 'Export as displayed' button.
This is a key feature to be able to provide management with exported data in the same visual format as used in the online dashboard. Would be a major improvement benefit.
This is so important. Its a key feature for us.
please prioritize this request
This is a must have - we have data combined / calculated in Power BI with a certain output (example: income statement format in a matrix), which is then required by users for a variety of reasons. We absolutely need to be able to export data in the same format as Power BI rather than recreate everything in excel!!! Cognos, etc all have the ability to do this - I don't understand why Power BI has not enabled this feature yet. Please move this to the top of your priority list. Thank you
Alternative for everyone who cannot wait for this in PowerBI: SeekTable (online pivot table tool) can export pivot tables to Excel -- either as worksheet with data or as Excel PivotTable.

Please prioritize, it's causing issues for some end users.

Please prioritize this. I use Power BI to analyze BOMs and color formatting is absolutely necessary to make the data comprehensible.
Please prioritize it
Please prioritize this in your next release. We have a growing user demand for this functionality. I agree to previous comments that this is a simple/fundamental feature of a BI tool.
I hope this feature will be released in next version updating.
This is simple feature for BI tool.
This has been in the backlog for 18 months and is VITAL for us. I know they're not the same but can you, instead of adding things like conditional formatting to borders, work on fundamental issues like this one?
I am so disappointed I didn't check this before I started use PBI....I could have recommended other tool. Users really need this feature.
Also that when printing or sending to pdf/ppt is only shown what is in the screen, sounds really incredible.
Both things are better managed with Crystal Reports from 2000.....
Tableau allows you to export the data to a PDF from the desktop application as well as from the published version. I don't understand why PowerBI doesn't have the capability to do it. This is probably one of the biggest downfalls of PowerBI compared to Tableau. Keep up with the competition, please!

1 Vote, I am seeking for this but the issue has not been solved yet... :(
if power bi desktop can not do this just let every know
instead of not response to the idea and let it hang around for years
Glaring weakness as compared to Tableau. Constructing a matrix and then losing the formatting on export is major time waster to have to re-create in excel for ececs that have to have excel
