Allow Table and Matrix Data Exports to Match PowerBI Visual
I have volumes of information to share with my teams that is best presented in tables and matrices. It would be a huge improvement if they were able to export the data from the visualizations and have the formatting in Excel match the formatting created within PowerBI.
This would be especially helpful for ongoing forecasting activities.
Thanks for your feedback on this issue – while we’d like to enable this, there is currently no timetable around doing so. There is the option as a workaround the create a paginated view as a drillthrough of the visual and have a formatted version you can export to Excel, but understand this isn’t a solution everyone can take advantage of currently.
The absence of this feature significantly diminishes the value of the matrix visual to our data consumers.

Thanks for the update, but this really should be very high up your to-do list! It's a very important feature that we're having to continually work around using bookmarks and other features.

Pleaes make this export option to visual export for matrix & table visuals to be exported as it is.
This is hugely important. Please Please Please make this a reality. One of the top requests coming from our end users is to be able to get the data out the same way it is being displayed.
Came here searching for ways to help a coworker export a BI pivot table into Excel, +1 for adding this functionality!
PowerBI without option to download report to excel is just beautiful charts!!!! For everyday work I extremely need data and charts in EXCEL!!!!

Three years and a half and 544 comments, plus 3169 upvotes. Makes me wonder what really makes it to the priorities’ list of the product owners.
Any update on an ETA for this feature? This is a top tier issue (based on votes) and I'm sure people would appreciate any feedback available.
It is disappointing to see that such an important feature is not available in Power BI. Most of my users are not comfortable using pivot tables in Excel. Why can't users just get what they see on their screens. Please work on this feature.

There is a huge demand for this functionality across our organisation, and it is a feature that has been available in other BI products we have used. This is causing major problems for users who do not necessarily have the excel expertise to put a pivot over the data once exported, and this would therefore be a valuable function to have.

the absence of this feature is the reason why our team still uses Tableau.

How on earth is this still a backlog item after being proposed in 2016? That this was not even a number one priority when making Power BI is just a bizarre and complete disregard of what should have been a day one feature. I wasted 3 days working through stupid errors in using queries (can't use declare because evidently what you type gets wrapped into a "select * FROM ") to trying to get the stepped visual to turn off (you have to expand everything after you add your columns, it is not apparent at the outset and isn't settable until AFTER you add data), then finally got the format right and went to export only to get, drum roll......a list. Not all analysis is done live using pretty pie charts and bar graphs. I can't believe I've wasted a week now only to go back to do this in SSRS, which will take me about an hour tops.
It seems that once Microsoft got the premium subscription pricing down, actual useful development stops. I proposed a long time ago that MS should have a clear and consistent visualization and export functionality across all their BI programs, but now we have different stuff between Excel, SSRS, PowerPivot, PowerBI and whatever else is going to be cooked up with next. You really need to consolidate your teams and stop working on all these things as separate entities.
WHEN CAN WE EXPECT TO HAVE THE ABILITY TO JUST EXPORT WHAT IS ON THE SCREEN???
It would be great to have this feature enabled in PowerBI as this is a requirement from our business
This is so useful functionality and its surprising that powerbi does not support this, not having this feature is causing financial powerBI rollout extremely difficult for the users.
A must have! The lack of this functionality is creating a lot of inefficiencies for our team. Please address ASAP!
Extremely shocked and disappointing to see that a functionality like this is still unavailable come 2020.

This option is absolutely necessary.
We do not use Power BI as a data visualisation only, we should be able to do some Excel exctract in order to share the results with external third parties an allow them to consolidate data from other suppliers/ clients etc ....
Looking forward to have the option available
