Increase dataset size limit for publishing Power BI Desktop files to Power BI online from 1GB to 5GB or more (for Pro licensed users)
Enterprises need to publish larger datasets than 1GB...especially given that you must use Power BI Desktop to create measures, custom columns, etc. and that users need access to raw/granular transaction data without having IT build summarized models with limited fields available (which quickly become obsolete when additional fields must be added and IT can't keep pace).
Potential solutions to this limitation:
1) Increase the size limit for publishing Power BI Desktop files to Power BI online service to 5GB+ for Pro users; or create a higher tier above Pro (Expert?) that has this higher publish limit.
2) Provide the ability to create measures, add columns, DAX, etc. to Power BI online service and/or publish desktop models without data (or previews of the data) and allow Pro users to refresh data through the Enterprise Gateway.
1 GB no es nada, hay que subirle.
Agreed. This 1gig limit is suffocating our reports data to a 3 months. This day in age where data is so critical and is everywhere the limit needs to be much higher. A pro license should account for 10 gigs in my opninion

We are voting on this request to increase the limitations not just for the cloud based solutions but also to the local server solutions. Disk space, RAM, and horse power is no longer an issue. Hence, that limitation should be uplifted or increase the dashboard sizes to a more up-to-date reality.

5gb should be perfect, everyone would be so happy and the world will get usable BI analytics
At least 10gb is good enough. Thanks in advance Power BI :-)
I can only load data for 3 months with 1 gb limit.

In the retail world where market basket queries are common, reaching 1gb is not hard. Please add.

With the current limit of 1 GB, we can only retrieve 6 months of data at a time. We must publish several reports, all identical except for the date range, for the users to obtain the data they need. And this is very cumbersome - especially since data sources cannot be combined in Service. I totally agree with the previous comments. This change is very necessary.

This would defiantly make Power BI the preferred solution in my industry (retail). Currently the deal breaker for us is the fact that we cant even get 24 months worth of data into the 1 GB dataset.
...and if used with a feature like below: where you don't have to upload all data when publishing, but refresh online it would speed up the process as well:

Agreed: many of my enterprise customers have dataset way over 1GB.

The user experience provided when data is imported and uploaded to the Power BI Service is seamless as compared to doing either direct query or SSAS on-premise.
We have a lot of time-series data that we want to make available to our users in a seamless way and have already passed the 1GB file size. The ask is to increase this by an order of magnitude to at least 10GB.
