Turn off tooltip and remove default tooltip
Ability to turn off tooltip and ability to remove the default tooltip (ie the columns used to create the visual).
As some people have already noted in the comments, we’ve actually shipped this feature already! It was included as part of our July update to Power BI Desktop. You can read all about it in our blog: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/power-bi-desktop-july-2018-feature-summary/#tooltips
And of course, if you have any other feature suggestions, please make sure to vote on them.

Allowing users to customize the default tool tip - such as adding commas to numbers. The commas automatically appear when I do count(col1) (where col1 is a number) but when I doi count(col1) (Where col1 has unique customer id), the numbers just appear as plain text with no commas separating the hundreds, thousands and millions. Please add this feature. Thanks

please allow hiding values in tooltips

Agreed. Simple option to turn this off would be great. The visualizations show everything the audience needs!

If I hover over an image, it shows the hosting website. I need to take this off, since it is a security problem and it is unnecessary!

I don't need a tooltip for simple visuals. Would like to turn this off.
Absolutely need to be able to remove the default tooltip data. I have three sets of data I want my client to see and instead it forces me to include two data points I do not want shared. Can this be corrected soon?

In funnel, the percent of first and percent of previous result confusing in must cases for the clients. We should be able to remove it.
This would be extremely useful - please add this capability.
There are many data points that are automatically added to the tool tips that we do not want people to have when hovering over the visuals.
Lack of flexibility around tooltips is a huge disadvantage when compared to other tools. Adding all fields simply creates unneeded noise and confusion for the audience.
I want to vote for the simple possibility to not show (trust on me... This is necessary for many areas) any tooltip, even for the main column value you put in charts.
At this moment I am discussing with my Global CIO of a Digital Publicity Agency here in Brazil why the reason I simply cannot remove all tooltips from charts, because our excecutive board does not want to share such information with others. For example they want to not show tooltips when clients hover mouse over bars. This is not possible now and due to this lack of option I can loose all budget investment from our global company to start using Power BI Desktop.

Yeah, this would be a useful feature. Even simple show/hide tooltip would do!

When using numerous calculated fields in the data set, the tooltip only creates additional noise to the report.
This would be very useful, the tooltips aren't always useful and sometimes misleading. Thank you.
would love to have the option to turn off the tooltip as some of the values used for the visual are sensitive and do not want to be shown.
Definitely would be Useful. I would like to remove lat and lon from the tool tip and use a descriptive address. I can display the descriptive address but I cannot remove the coordinates. In my environment, the higher ups don't like seeing coordinates,
for privacy reason. need to hide certain tooltips so that exact values cannot be extracted.
+ we cant completely customize the tooltips, we can only add on. Ideally the columns used to create the visual should be added to the tootips, so that we can remove them.
