scheduled export of a report to pdf
It would be nice if there is an option to have a scheduled export of a report to PDF. A nice to have feature would be to directly e-mail it to people so they are being notified of the latest report.
Another update on this item – users now have the ability to set up scheduled subscriptions with paginated reports and 6 different formats, along with parameters per subscription to allow further personalization. There is also now the ability to create paginated reports against any Power BI dataset in the service, and we’re planning to add drillthrough from Power BI to Paginated Reports in the short term.
We still have plans to support e-mail attachments for Power BI reports as well in the coming months, and we’ll share more specifics once we get closer to starting that work.

At BI Helper https://bihelper.tech, we continue to build on the core ‘Export to PDF and email’ functionality for Power BI Pro, Embedded and Report Server users. New features in BI Helper:
1. Integration with Microsoft: Enhanced security and seamless interface with Power BI.
2. Matrix and Table Visuals as MS Excel files: See your matrix and table visuals in Power BI as MS Excel files, sent to you as email attachments. With support for full vertical and horizontal scrolling, so that you can easily view ALL your data. With report filters and slicers applied, so you can view ONLY your data!
3. Support for custom Canvas (page) sizes: Build your Power BI reports with any canvas size and aspect ratio. Use BI Helper to automate PDF creation and report distribution.

We're using Power BI as a lightweight ETL tool to perform transformations on data from various sources, but need to be able to automatically export the transformed output. Power Automate would be a perfect end-to-end solution if we could just export the data from Power BI automatically.

is this for external users as well?
Bring it to pro as well.
Currently a report subscription that sends an email with a paginated PDF of the report attached is only available in PowerBI Premium, correct? Are there plans to bring that ability to PowerBI Pro?
the idea was started in 2016 and till date it hasn't been added.
I doubt Microsoft will do it ?
Whether this is delivered through a MS Flow (MS Automate) functionality or delivered directly in PowerBI Web, this is a must have. Being able to have reports being generated for a PDF opens up opportunities for automation with teams, projects and clients. Licensing seems to be a risk to consider.
I feel this request/idea also crosses over into the debate about the need for a "report viewing" license (read only) to view reports. See - https://ideas.powerbi.com/forums/265200-power-bi-ideas/suggestions/6769950-create-an-read-only-and-external-license-tier
Fully agree with thi sone "An MSFlow connector to the data would also be great. Currently you can query alarms, which is an interesting thing, but I don't know of any application that uses the alarm function seriously."
We are thinking of using PBI Embedded for our Customer-facing app, and the only thing currently blocking us from going forward is the inability of the Embedded to export to PDF.
If possible, please add this (as I believe there are many more who'd love this to become a part of the PBI Embedded).
Thanks and kind regards.
My boss is asking for this so I need this because my job depends on it. Please make it happen this year or I'm gone.
Need csv or/and excel support. Thanks!
What's the status of this? I have no adoption of reports I have built because I cannot automate their distribution. People still don't want to go to run report themselves. They want it attached and distributed by email.

Now available for Power BI Pro and PBI Report Server users:
Automated generation and emailing of reports in PDF format with user-defined slicers. With enhanced information security and user-configurable API integration for slicer values and contact email IDs.
See BI Helper https://bihelper.tech for details.
Especially for large datasets used to provide monthly metrics, a lot of manual effort could be eliminated by providing a function to export either tables (append to existing) or export data from visuals (measures, etc.) to SharePoint Online Lists or other database tools (or even within Power BI itself). This would be a static snapshot feature to capture the current state of dynamic data and preserve/archive history of KPIs.
I also agree to put the focus on data export. A PDF is nice, but periodically storing the data adds value.
Whether the export is to Excel, a SharePoint list, an Access database or whatever, I wouldn't care. The main thing is the technical possibility.
An MSFlow connector to the data would also be great. Currently you can query alarms, which is an interesting thing, but I don't know of any application that uses the alarm function seriously.
It would be nice if we have feature in Power BI reports to schedule the export Table's visual data to One-drive on regular frequency.
Hi Chris, Any update by when ability to print/export the entire table of data to PDF or other format will be available?Ability to export to PDF with custom visuals and take print is needed and not having is a shortcoming as a functionality. Hoping the next releases would address this issue.
PDF are pretty useless. i'm voting for the ability to auto export the data/measures to csv or excel so it can be used to create a time series of a measure
