Count should return 0 instead of (Blank)
Count of <some column> should return 0 instead of '(Blank)' (looks better on a Dashboard)
this needs to be combined with https://ideas.powerbi.com/forums/265200-power-bi-ideas/suggestions/16587064-add-checking-on-blank-for-cadr-visual
bandaid solution - create measure with simple count formula and add "+0" at the end.
Add same column to card visual and perform 'Count' or 'Count(distinct)' from GUI - ends up "(blank)" when it tries to count empty set ...
bandaid solution is minor inconvenience with 1 or 2 card visuals in report ... now use that with 10 or 20 visuals on single report ...
worst case scenario - you have measure 'custom count' for every single column in dataset ...
please add "display 0 instead of (blank)" to "Count" and "Count (Distinct)" options in GUI on every visual supporting this type of calculation
The blank is certainly very annoying and an option to show blank as 0 or - or whatever we want to would be great.
Not sure exactly how the process works but this is perhaps something a community member can contribute to given that's an option now.
what is this, europe before 1202 (when fibonacci began using 0 in his mathematics)?

Do a calculation 0 + count of <some column). This will return 0
Fully agree with most comments below. Please guys, this is such a simple change to make. You can't use the basic tools for simple counts, where a zero value will result in (blank) being displayed on screen. Having to define a custom measure for each one of these seems like a lot of work for something that should be this simple.
Please just provide the option to show 0 as the number zero or the text (blank). It's that simple.
really helpful function. such as line chart
Count with no Blanks = IF(DISTINCTCOUNT(Table[Value]) = BLANK(),0,DISTINCTCOUNT(Table[Value]))

This is a redundant request with 16587064. Please fix & close both!
sorry if this has already been discussed, but I am quite new to Power BI and I need some help with cards; I am using an average to show value in cards which are linked to slicers; the issue is that if there are no data for a certain brand selected, then the card shows "blank" which is not ideal to see. Is there a way to change this "blank" to either zero or "no data"?
Thank you for your help
I agree with previous user comments, when using external clean datasets and using the count feature from Power BI it would be nice to have the option to return "Blank" or "0" instead of a simple default to "Blank".
For dashboards displays that are number intensive displaying the word "Blank" tends to lead the intended audience to think that there is an issue with the dataset.
It would be nice if you add this feature to Power bi.
You should have the option to return Blank or 0
If you have multiple cards and the value shows blank then it's time consuming to write an IF measure for every card. Just seems time consuming and not a very efficient way to display values. Suggestions of putting 0 or None automatically generated from DAX would make it much easier to track values.

I added a new column 'Zero' with 0 to one of my table. Then add a Quick Measures to my Field in the Card and select Addition for Calculation. Then add Base Value to the column 'Zero' to display 0 on the card if the Field is Blank.
Hope that helps!

I agree. A lot of upper management and leadership people at my company want to see 0, instead of a blank. Checking a box in the "Matrix" display options would save hours of work writing up a DAX code.

Sure, you could do this using a new DAX measure, but wouldn't it be better if the Card visuals simply have a checkbox in the visual properties to show either (Blank) or 0?

Has anyone had this problem before related to this idea? This idea would solve my problem as the + 0 and ISBLANK() solutions do not work for me. If there is anyone that has had my problem before (see: https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Desktop/KPI-Visuals-and-Blank-Issue-with-making-Blank-a-0/m-p/331941#M148417), please let me know if you found a different solution!
Dax is working fine... blank is blank, not 0. And blank is displayed as blank in many visuals.
But the CARD VISUALISATION is not! it's the one that should be fixed, to either show a real blank or show at least a 0 (maybe with an option "show blank as 0" or something).
