Add a "snap to grid" like functionality to Power BI Desktop
Creating a clean, consistent layout in reports is very difficult in the Power BI desktop tool. Please consider adding a customizable layout grid that objects can snap to like PowerPoint. Thanks!
The October release of Power BI Desktop has a preview of gridlines and snap to grid! Try it out by downloading the latest version of Power BI Desktop and enabling the preview feature in the settings dialog. For more info on this feature, check out this article: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/documentation/powerbi-desktop-gridlines-snap-to-grid/
Also ability to move visualisations to top pixel of page,
Currently lose pixels at top of page due to visual ribbon, could always move to side or bottom of visualisation if it is dragged right to top of page?

looking forward for this feature and just would lime to say thanks :-)
There should be two options for Snap to Grid. Either you specify that the entire visualization like a Matrix or Table is one big "tile" or box to snap to grid, or you can specify that the columns and rows within the Matrix or Table is a Snap to grid.
That way multiple matrix boxes can have all columns line up so you don't waste time carefully sizing each column in each visualization with each other.
Is there a target for this? Being able to move things around with the arrow keys instead of just the the mouse.
It would be also cool to have rulers on the edges and once you drag edges of a diagram, a notch would appear on the ruler. Just like it is in Visio.
@Pedro Innecco has it nailed down, but I would humbly add that the ability to snap - align would also be very desirable. EG. When dragging a control near another one, and coloured guide appear allowing you to line top / bottom edge up with the correct margin.
Thank you for your efforts!

Make it like visio - snap to edges (or midpoints) of other objects
any idea on the rollout timeline?

Here is what I would expect from a snap to grid feature:
a) Allow users to specify grid size
b) Being able to zoom in/out would refine the grid (like in office applications -- I know Power BI isn't office, but the functionality found in office is spot-on).
c) Hide/show grid should work independently from snap to grid.
d) make sure that grid does not disappear based on the colour of the background (e.g. black grid against black background).
Tabs would also be very useful to put more information in the same screen, sharing the same filters.

Thank you "PLANNED" of "Snamp to grid" like functionality.

Specifying the grid size would be great

Great to see this on the agenda. I don't know if it is pushing luck too much, but there are quite a few editing improvements that would help. Can any of these been added into scope?

Something like QlikSense which does it well
The same aligning/snapping features available within other VS visual modeling tools. Like SSRS or SSIS as an example.

How about a dual option of
1. snap-to-grid and
2. the customisable reporting it currently has except with gridlines that you can choose to view and hide while building the report?
This would be the best fit for both parties on either side of the fence.
Snap to Grid or Snap to other object like Visual Studios
Snap-to should be an option and guidelines should be default when moving any object on the canvas.

The Matrix Visualization badly needs grid lines.
It would be a GREAT improvement. The most frustrating thing is that it exists for dashboard since first version ;-)
