  1. Option to use either light or dark interface.

    New Desktop app update installed an almost white user interface. There is zero contrast which is not good for the eyes. I see where some people have requested a light interface so incorporate an option to select either light or dark theme like in the Office apps.

  2. Composite models when connected to SQL Server Analysis Services Tabular (SSAS)

    We really love the new feature of 'Composite Models' in the Power BI July 2018 update! This enables us to join custom lists with DirectQuery sources.

    It would also be beneficial if this would also work when connected to SSAS Tabular in DirectQuery.
    This would stronlgy improve the enterprise features of Power BI.

  3. Measure Management & DAX Editor

    Anyone who uses PowerBI long enough has had a PBIX with 50-60 measures and it has become time consuming and tedious to mantain. In Excel you can do a quick find/replace to edit several formulas - in PowerBI you need to select each one individually. An "excel-like" interface for editing measures would save a lot of time! This would take PowerBI to the next level regarding productivity. I've prepared a mockup for this as well as a DAX Editor. Let me know what you think.

  4. DAX Query Language Visual

    I see big value in creating a visual that can display the results of a DAX query. One way this could be deployed is a follows.
    * Add the new visual to the report canvas
    * Write a DAX query that returns a table (of course) and add this to the visual
    * The visual would respect any cross filtering coming from the report just like any other visual.

    This would give report writers very granular control to display records without having to use a table visual and a measure that triggers the display of the correct records.

    At the moment we don’t have any plans to implement this. It sounds like it’s mostly useful for learning/training? If there are other ‘production’ scenarios that you think it’d be useful, where a regular table/matrix wouldn’t work, please let us know in the comments!

  5. Power BI premium capacity metrics - extend it to beyond 7 days.

    I would like to see capacity usage metrics beyond 7 days. Is this going to be a part of any future releases? I should be able to keep an find of the usage metrics for the duration I wish for say few weeks to few months. Specific month, specific week etc. Please add a feature for this.

  6. Conditional Formatting for Total and Subtotals in Matrices

    The recent addition of conditional formatting for values is wonderful. However, it would be great to have the ability format subtotals and totals, as the variation on those fields are often even more important to draw attention to.

  7. Multipages reports, export to pdf and other API issues

    1. I have multipages report (with 10 tabs). I want to print them, export to pdf,excel,word,powerpoint via API.
    2. I want to add custom styles to Iframe.
    3. I want folders organized in power bi web. I have 146 reports. And it is mess.

  8. Export to Powerpoint with filters

    We need the ability to export with current filters selected. Without this capability the export function is limited. Export to Adobe with preselected filter without having to save the report would work as well.

  9. Conditional formatted measures using SWITCH

    A current limitation in Power BI SWITCH measures (and all Power Pivot actually) is that a SWITCH measure must have a single format. It is currently not possible to conditionally format the measure result based on any criteria - it is one single format only. There are valid use cases where you may want to change the format of the SWITCH measure depending on the result. Consider the following SWITCH statement

    From the comments and scenarios everyone’s describing, the problem is really that you need a way to allow end-users to change which measure is displayed in a visual on the fly.

    As a few folks have mentioned, the FORMAT function might help in the interim, as long as you’re showing the results in text rather than a chart. https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dax/format-function-dax has details on how to use that.

    The expression-based formatting feature that we’ve started work on may help to a certain extent, but that’s really designed to change a visual’s properties rather than the data type or format. We’ll look into extending that work to support this scenario as well.

    We’re moving this to Backlog status – our core plan is to build ways that end-users can change the dimensions or measures that are visible in a chart on the fly. They’ll be able to explore much more freely rather than…

  10. Allow Table and Matrix Data Exports to Match PowerBI Visual

    I have volumes of information to share with my teams that is best presented in tables and matrices. It would be a huge improvement if they were able to export the data from the visualizations and have the formatting in Excel match the formatting created within PowerBI.

    This would be especially helpful for ongoing forecasting activities.

  11. Power BI Global Admin

    As an IT administrator I need a way to see all content (datasets, reports, dashboards) that has been created and shared across the entire online tenant. This is needed to be able to support content after employees leave the organization as well as to support our SOX auditing practices.

  12. input fields

    What about adding input fields to the dashboard widgets. Kind of like the text field but it is enabled for user input. This input field can be used in new column and new measure fields so that once the dashboard is set up the user can easily (without filtering) explore the data by entering different values such as if you had an input box for unit price. Then if you change it all the charts of total sales, revenue, etc. Will update to reflect what would happen if you increase the price by 10%. This will enable people to quickly…

  13. Pivottables via Analyze in Excel

    Now that the "analyze in excel" has been released it would be nice if Excel Online recognized Power BI an internal data source.

    This would allow users to make Pivot tables in excel (connected to a data model) and upload them as "First Class Citizen" excel files with full functionality.

    Don't know if you can make excel pivottables into a custom visual?

    Or just an excel custom visual - this would really help out on your tables, which (design wise) are not your proudest moment ;o)

  15. Better usage of Mobile/Tablet screen space

    Better use of the Mobile/Tablet screen landscape. Lots of space used for menu and bottom tabs. The dashboards/reports should be the priority on the screen.

  16. Data Catalog integration in PowerBI Designer

    The PowerBI Designer is missing integration with the Data Catalog and there is no online search functionality. The data catalog is a core component of the reporting solution so let me use it with the Power BI Designer

  17. Workday HR

    I would love to have the ability to do reporting against Workday. We leverage it as our global HR platform. It has some really good reporting but it would be nice to have the ability but it would be great to be able to share reporting with SharePoint and Power BI so that we can surface non sensitive data up in dashboards.
