Allow me to pin a filter to the dashboard that can be associated with one or more pinned dashboard KPIs.4,106 votes
We don’t plan to bring filters to dashboards. We do plan on investing more in composite models to allow multiple sources to be brought into the same report for slicing and filtering.
Provide a Power BI Designer application install for Mac OSs.3,650 votes
We are not considering bringing Power BI Desktop to Mac anytime soon; however, we do plan to bring more and more authoring capabilities from Power BI Desktop into the web experience. In the meantime, consider running Power BI Desktop in an application like Parallels or Turbo.net.
can i sign in with my MS outlook login?2,808 votes
Power BI relies on users being part of an organization. The challenge with personal email accounts is that there is no clear organization to which to add users. Customers who are using personal accounts can be invited to access content within an organization bases on the Azure B2B support within Power BI.
For customers who don’t have an organization, you can establish an organization in www.azure.com then create an Azure Active Directory (free). Within the AAD you can create a new user. With this new organizational identity, you can sign-up for Power BI.
Please add the capability to export Report Server PowerBI reports to formats like pdf, word, powerpoint. Some of this functionality exists in the service but please add it to Report Server.2,653 votes
We’d hoped we’d have a good way to bring this functionality to the server – however, after a lengthy evaluation of all the options and required investments, we’re not planning to bring this feature to the server at this time. As a workaround, we suggest using the Export to PDF capabilities in Power BI Desktop for Report Server.
Power BI should have a Lite License for people that only consume dashboards or reports every now and then. This is for people that don't create reports but need to see the dashboards and may need to use the "report level" to be able to export output to PowerPoint (since you can't export the dashboard to PowerPoint but can only do it at Report level).2,413 votes
With the introduction of Power BI Premium earlier this year, there are now two licensing options for Power BI: Power BI Pro and Power BI Premium. This provides the flexibility to select the model that best meets the needs of individual users and entire organizations – whether that’s equipping users with access to self-service BI, broadening the reach of BI content for users occasionally viewing dashboards and reports, or elevating storage sizes, increasing refresh rates and introducing other performance capabilities based on workload requirements.
The right choice, Pro or Premium, depends on your particular situation. We’ve been listening to your questions on UserVoice, the community, and other forums about what option to choose, and have developed a FAQ on our blog that answers the most common questions. Check it out at https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/power-bi-pro-power-bi-premium-flexibility-to-choose-the-licensing-best-for-you-and-your-organization/.
Be able to create email subscriptions for the PBIX reports in the Report Server2,077 votes
We’d hoped we’d have a good way to bring this functionality to the server – however, similarly to Export to PDF, after a lengthy evaluation of all the options and required investments, we’re not planning to bring this feature to the server at this time.

You can pin live report pages to dashboard if you want this functionality, or use a report instead.
Please add support for Power BI Dashboards to Power BI Report Server.770 votes
The team will be investing in the integration of the dashboards and leverage the dashboard platform of Power BI.com as the solution for this scenario
It seems unfair that Power BI desktop is updated each month with new and improved visuals but we will have to wait several months longer to have these improvements in Power BI Report Server. For example the new matrix visual is big improvement but those with Report Server will have to wait about 6 months before it is available to them. I'd like Report Server updates in parallel to Desktop updates.647 votes
As stated late last year, we’re now committed to shipping regular updates every 4 months in January, May and September. This frequency is the best balance we’ve found for Enterprise customers between too rapid a cadence and too slow.

Option to disable the share buttons (Twitter, Linkedin, Facebook and share itself) in the embed code. I am using the embed code to post the report in a sharepoint page with in the company by this would prevent a public sharing.514 votes
Thanks for taking the time to vote and share your feedback on our product.
However, it seems that you are not using the solution that fit your needs.
The ‘Share’ buttons only exists in ‘Publish to Web’ product, which is meant only for public and open content sharing.
In order to embed content into SharePoint, while keeping data secured and manage user permissions,
Please use the ‘Power BI Embedded’ product.
See this article on how to embed content to SharePoint Online using Power BI Embedded-
I think it will be great if report server can support custom R visualization for more data insight!494 votes
Thanks for your feedback – we’re not currently planning to bring R visuals in Power BI reports to Power BI Report Server.
As mentioned in the comments, a workaround to consider is several public blog posts that discuss how you can potentially use R visuals in paginated reports in the product.
Shared data source connection (live to Tabular SSAS) for reports published on Power BI Report Server
Currently each Power BI report published to the Report Server has its own data source embedded within the report. Any change in the source would require us to change hundreds of published reports individually. Could we have a shared data source/connection similar to SSRS Reports that would help us manage deployment and changes much more efficiently.439 votes
We’re not planning to make this feature available in Power BI Report Server. We are looking at making available an API to allow you to change the data source programatically, however, to make movement between servers easier.
Support for exporting Power BI report to PowerPoint. The feature is available in Power BI service (Preview).404 votes
We’re not planning to bring this feature to Power BI Report Server for Power BI Reports due Some engineering challenges to bring the current architecture for this in the service to the on-prem server product. You’ll of course continue to have the ability to export to PPT for RDL reports in the server product.
Support ESRI ArcGIS maps in Power BI Report Server.319 votes
Thanks for your feedback – at this time, we’re not planning to add this capability to Power BI Report Server. We understand this will be disappointing to many of you who’ve voted and provided feedback, and this wasn’t a decision made lightly. And of course, you’ll continue to see investments in these capabilities in the Power BI service going forward.
If a specific threshold is exceeded I want to receive a email / message that this is happening on my Dashboard. It would be better if there is a default threshold for this and that a user can set up a specific threshold also.308 votes
We’re not planning to add the Data Alerts feature to Power BI Report Server at this time. As a workaround, consider using programs like Microsoft Flow to notify you around changes in your data.
Please add support for Power BI Report Server multiple instances on a single server. Like SQL Server Reporting Services : ability to change name, location, add, remove instance. On a mid/large report server farm, multiple instance helps a lot for progressive patching, ssrs subscription launch on different sql engine, etc.239 votes
Hi all, We aren’t planning to re-implement multi-instance support as we had prior to SSRS 2017. We recommend using virtualization as an alternative, and we’re also looking at possibly adding container support in the future.
Right now, If I use PowerBI desktop to create a dataset, report and dashboard. I am not able to share it with a standard user. This effectively means that we have to either licence everyone as a pro (very expensive for 4k people), or not use the pro features at all (which isn't what we want).
Pro users should be able to build and schedule the PowerBI, and then be able to share with any company user using AD security groups.
Without these options the tool may not be a viable option...185 votes
Add Dashboards to Power BI Report Server159 votes
As mentioned on a previous ideas post, we aren’t planning to bring dashboards to Power BI Report Server. These will continue to be a feature found exclusively in the Power BI service.
