input fields
What about adding input fields to the dashboard widgets. Kind of like the text field but it is enabled for user input. This input field can be used in new column and new measure fields so that once the dashboard is set up the user can easily (without filtering) explore the data by entering different values such as if you had an input box for unit price. Then if you change it all the charts of total sales, revenue, etc. Will update to reflect what would happen if you increase the price by 10%. This will enable people to quickly…

Dynamic Visibility
Based on certain criteria being met, being able to dynamically hide/show a visual can add more flexibility to the tool. For example, use some kind of slicer to indicate whether a bar chart should be displayed or a table.

Full Screen Dashboards in Power BI Desktop
Include an option to publish or show a "Full Screen" dashboard for Power BI Desktop, similar to a PowerPoint Slide.

Increase Export Data Limits
In late 2016, Power BI improved our export data options to allow exporting up to 150,000 rows to Excel from a visual on a Power BI dashboard for Pro users. If you require higher limits, please vote on this idea. If you have more specific requirements, please leave them in the comments.
1,245 votesThanks everyone for your feedback. We’ve started to explore various options to increase this limit. Stay tuned for updates.

Security - Ability to maintain source security for reports published on BI Sites
The general requirement is that visualizations (Power View, SSRS etc...) must not circumvent existing policies, or introduce yet another set of security policies on top of those already implemented at the source.
- For example, a visualization of sales data needs to reflect the policy that account managers can only read sales data for their region.
- For performance reasons, this is enforced at the source by injecting predicates into the query based on the end users identity. If identities for end users are not passed down the process chain into the data layer, it leaves us little option but to publish…
1,011 votesHey all!
We’ve continued to make progress here, so I wanted to update this thread with our current capabilities for maintaining security on dashboards/reports.
As always, all of this information can be found in our Row-Level Security (RLS)documentation: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/powerbi-admin-rls/
> If you have set up RLS in Analysis Services, Power BI will send the signed-in user’s credentials to Analysis Services, and respect the RLS rules set up on the on-premises model.
> Separately, you can set up RLS in Power BI for data sources that you import or connect to via DirectQuery. This process starts in PBI Desktop, where you define roles, and write DAX to constrain what data these roles can see. As part of this process, can you use the UserPrincipalName() DAX function to get the current signed in user’s UPN (e.g. joe@contoso.com). Then, once you publish to service, you can assign users to these…

Transfer of ownership of created dashboards
It would be great if there was an option to tranfer ownership of created reports and dashboards. This way, work would not have to be duplicated if the original creator was to leave the company/change roles/etc.

Power BI Online Query Parameters
This is a continuation of "Allow runtime parameters in Power View and/or Power Query". Request this capability in Power BI Online so users can go to a dashboard and easily be able to search for a list of values. Currently the user would need to use a slicer and individual select each value. An example would be if I had list of part numbers to search in the dashboard. Currently I would need to scroll up and down in a slicer and individually select each one. In SSRS I can create a parameter dropdown and easily type in and even…

Ability to add Feedback or Questions on Dashboard
Would be great if we had a notes area of the Dashboard for people to leave comments or questions about the content on the Dashboard. Same would be true for the PowerView Reports, except have them rollup in the Dashboard area.
627 votesThanks everyone for your support and votes! We’re working on enabling commenting for dashboards and reports in the Power BI service soon. Stay tuned.

Ability to share datasets or connection to other users.
Ability to share Dataset and connectivity to other users
524 votesDistributing datasets is possible in the PBI service today via the following steps:
1) As the sharer, go to the gear > “Create Content Pack” > add the dataset you’d like to share – optionally, you may also choose to add additional datasets, report, or dashboards
2) As the recipient, go to Get Data > “My Organization” and select the content pack created in step 1
3) Click on the “…” in the dataset that is added to your workspace, and click “Make a copy”
The recipient can then start creating reports based on the new dataset.
Does this meet your needs? Please let us know via comments or e-mail.

copy data to clipboard
Copy Data to Clipboard should be a simple right-click context menu capability --- as it has been in Tableau for years. Often, user wants data being displayed without going through export to CSV and import into Excel. Just simple copy-paste of data out of visual to clipboard to ... whatever intended ... is extremely useful.

Refresh dashboards tiles when i change a report
It very annoying having to re-draw every dashboard that uses a specific report. It would be nice having automatic refresh of the dashboard tile when I change a report involved.

Public URL for Dashboards
We (and many others) would like to be able to have a public URL for any dashboard that is created. This would enable us to share visualizations outside our organization, with partners, etc.
475 votesWe will think about enabling this. Won’t “embedding” in a public site via iframe be sufficient?

The ability to click and drag to select multiple visuals
Like other visual editing packages, would be good if it was possible to drag and select multiple visuals.

Bookmarks on BI Service at Dashboard level
Loving the new bookmarking feature, however working within an organisation where Power BI has just been introduced the majority of our dashboards are pinned reports to dashboard level. It would be AMAZING if the bookmarks (linked to images) worked on the dashboard level.
If you can pin an entire report and the interactive visuals work, logic dictates that any image-based bookmarks should also work. Also adding bookmarks to filters would be heaven.
I appreciate that bookmarks are in preview but would welcome any indication of further bookmark developments?

Annotating visualizations!
The ability to annotate a visualization, for example a chart or graph, would make both the dashboard and reports experience more robust.

Advanced trend lines in charts (polynomial, exponential,...)
Thank you for adding the linear trend line, however Power BI would be much more powerful with additional trend line functionality. We would love to see advanced options such as polynomial, exponential and logarithmic trend lines.
Essentially the trend line functionality from excel would be perfect

Need a way to test a dashboard before releasing to production.
Need a way to test a dashboard (some sort of a dev environment) before releasing (to production environment). This is especially critical in enterprise settings, where any change to the dashboard will likely have large business impact affecing a large number of people.
376 votesWe’re doing several improvements to the overall manageability, collaborative authoring, and organization of dashboards/reports. Having a pre-release test environment is a key component of the forward roadmap.

Slicer mandatory selection property
A property called "Mandatory select" would be nice under "Selection Controls" for the slicer. This would enforce filtering if the underlying dataset is very big. At least one value must be selected at all times if this property is turned on.

ability to show/hide visuals based on conditionals
The idea is to allow specific conditions of data from a visual to impact the visibility of another visual.
For example if data in one visual greater than X, then hide Visual A.
I understand that such functionality would introduce the need to name visuals in PowerBI -- but this is not different than Excel, and would perhaps introduce the ability to manipulate visuals even further.

Reduce the size of the tiles on the dashboard
Hi,
If we could reduce the size of the tiles on the Dashboard to a smaller size, it would be a great addition to the visual appeal of the Dashboard as a whole. In the current property of the tiles, the minimum size of the tile looks big when the length of the text is small. This is the case with the image , text or any other tile pinned onto the dashboard.
It would be helpful if this feature could be added.361 votes
