  1. Embed Dashboard into Sharepoint

Great to now have the ability to embed reports into SharePoint, however this needs extending to dashboards.

  2. REST API access to READ datasets

Pretty self explanatory - would be great to be able to stream a dataset, or grab a specified number of rows.

This would also require the ability to query the # of rows, size of dataset etc, column types etc.

somewhat related to this feature request: https://support.powerbi.com/forums/265200-power-bi/suggestions/7059563-create-a-part-download-of-datasets

  3. Full Screen mode for the Power BI SharePoint web part

The Power BI Sharepoint webpart is missing an "Enter Full Screen Mode" button.

  4. Export to Excel from PowerBI Embedded

Please provide the ability to export PowerBI Embedded reports to excel. The same functionality that exists on PBI Service.
It is important to also increase export limit.

  5. Publish App via REST API

The REST API allows me to programmatically deploy a new set of reports to a Power BI App Workspace, but there is no way to then Publish this App to make it available to the users via the REST API. This is stopping me from creating a complete deployment system for Power BI reports for use in a Continuous Deployment process.

Currently I have to manually navigate to the App workspace and press the 'Deploy App' button in my browser.

  6. REST API for managing roles of datasets

Row-level security enabled by roles for datasets feature released in March 2016. is great but a manual process. It should be enabled via Rest API too. That would allow synchronization of user roles with custom applications automatically.

  8. Power BI NodeJs SDK

Give SDK in NodeJS to help calling Power BI Rest APIs.

    Github: https://github.com/Microsoft/PowerBI-Node
This github is not updated to match the new APIs in new swagger. updating it will be helpful.

  9. Microsoft Word POWER BI Add-on

Other than the Devscope Power BI addon which does not work the way I expected, Can Microsoft provide a POWER BI Add-on which allows us to insert or copy a particular visual into the word document? I'd like to copy paste a particular chart/graph from power BI web/desktop like we can copy graphs from Excel into Word. I tried to export the Power BI report into a powerpoint file but since we have over 15 pages in this PBI Report this was not allowed.

Surely Microsoft can provide this integration between their own products?

I have been using Snagit to…

  10. Bypass test connection/Ignore failure for Web Sources that depend on authorization header

The power BI service runs a test connection on Web API data sources before pulling data. However for Web Sources whose response depends on a required authorization header fail to authenticate in the power bi service while setting up a scheduled refresh. The source is accessed using Web.Contents and by passing the URL, Relative path and authorization header. This works perfectly fine in Power BI desktop since it executes the GET request along with the authorization header without a test connection. If the same could be done in power bi service by either bypassing the test connection or ignoring failures…

  11. Pivottables via Analyze in Excel

Now that the "analyze in excel" has been released it would be nice if Excel Online recognized Power BI an internal data source.

This would allow users to make Pivot tables in excel (connected to a data model) and upload them as "First Class Citizen" excel files with full functionality.

Don't know if you can make excel pivottables into a custom visual?

Or just an excel custom visual - this would really help out on your tables, which (design wise) are not your proudest moment ;o)

    Thanks for a fantastic product!

  12. Disable focus mode buttons in Power BI Embedded

Every visual on every report page now has the focus mode button, and there is no way of switching this off per visual.

It should be possible to switch this button off per visual.

Most visuals actually don't need focus mode at all (e.g. slicers, text boxes, etc.)

To deliver a high quality experience to the paying users of our app this is absolutely necessary, right now all pages of the report are littered with unnecessary boxes and buttons appearing all over it as the user interacts with a page, and no way for us to switch this off.

  13. When Power BI is embedded into SharePoint, allow filters to be preset

It is currently possible for filters (or even slicers) to be preset when publishing to PowerBI.com. From a threat on the recent PBI AMA it was stated that Power BI will be able to be embedded in SharePoint. When that happens, it would be great to be able to preset filters for each embedded dashboard/report rather than needing to set it in the Power BI pbix file first. This way it would allow multiple instances of the dashboard/report to be embedded and filters set for the specific SharePoint embed locations. The use case for this could be a sales situation…

  14. Support R visuals to Publish to web

Currently publishing to web doesn't support R visuals. It is very essential otherwise what is the value of R scripts if I am not able to publish It.

  16. 2-3 minutes refresh interval for live data sources (PRO+ ?)

At the moment there is possibility to setup refresh interval in Azure SQL database advanced option, but minimal refresh interval is 15 minutes. Fir some situations it’s not enough – 2-3 minutes would be much better.
I know that using REST API it’s probably possible to get refresh rates we need, but it requires additional work and if data is already in Azure SQL database, it’s weird to use REST API to push it into Power BI.
If more frequent refreshes disallowed due to higher resource consumption, let’s create another pricing option “Power BI Pro+”, which allows 2-3 minute refresh…

  17. Secure embedded links in Sway

I see a lot of potential in embedded Power BI reports in Sway, but the only way to do it currently is to publish a public URL that is then embedded - I'd like an option similar to the SharePoint one that would allow organization-level sharing within Sway of a Power BI report without having to make it public first. I don't understand why I can have organization-level security within Power BI and within Sway, but the only way to link the two is by creating a public link to my dashboard/report and data.

  18. Allow to pass parameters to an iframe for Power BI Embedded

Scenario: We have a website with Power BI embedded analytics and details provided by SSRS reports. On the top you could see the parameters for the reports (multiple value, single value, all). It would be great if we could pass (securely) parameters to power bi embedded so that the datasource only shows certain data. Imagine that I would have to share this dataset for several customers and I want to filter data by customer instead of creating one datasource for each of them.
    Thanks!

  19. Language option for emebedded PowerBI report

There should be an option to change language of embedded PowerBI report.

Reason: A user wants to create 10 PowerBI reports . That user is providing support to multiple countries (15 in this case). So, user would have to create 150 separate reports for each country.

In case, user is adding a new feature in one report, he would have to update total 15 corresponding reports for each language.

If only there would have be an option (a parameter), while embedding PowerBI report, to change the language, it would be much better and easy for us to maintain multiple reports.

  20. Power BI to read credentials from Key Vault

Power BI to read credentials from Key Vault.

Currently Power BI when connecting to databases have to enter credentials ,for example when connecting to Azure SQL DW via SQL authentication needs id and password. If power BI can directly read from Key Vault we can simply provide developers tokens instead of users accounts and passwords.
