  1. Slicer "Clear Selection" icon color attribute

    I'd like to see the ability to set the color of the eraser icon (clear selection) in a slicer header to something different than the default grey.

    When you use a dark color background (let's say Dark Green) with light color font (let's say medium Orange), it's very difficult for users to see the default grey eraser and clear their selections.

    If some of the color setting attributes that were just added to visual headers could be brought to the Slicer header I belive the issue would be resolved.

  3. IntelliSense Should Use Best Practice Column and Measure Naming Conventions

    There is a clearly defined and accepted best practice for referencing columns and measures in the DAX language.

    1. Column names should ALWAYS reference the table name.
    TableName[Column Name]
    2. Measures should NEVER reference the table name.
    [Measure Name]

    This is a fundamental concept accepted by everyone with knowledge of the DAX language (everyone I know anyway).

    IntelliSense in DAX sometimes follows this convention and sometimes it does not. I have created a short video (40 seconds) showing 3 examples. https://youtu.be/CvaRhKrnHRk

  4. Text Direction Property for visuals and pages

    Currenty it seems like all texts in a PBIX file are defined as LTR.
    It will be very useful to have the control over the Text Direction property.
    It will be really great to have this control dynamicly - Let's say there's a multi-language report where the X axis on a bar chart has company names in mix language that has different desired Text Direction properties.

  5. Easier page management: thumbnail view

    Currently, viewing pages within a report can only be done by navigating the narrow bar at the bottom of the screen. Clicking the left and right navigation button moves the bar a variable amount the user has no control over making it very difficult to consistently and precisely navigate from page to page. It is impossible to quickly jump to a specific page.

    Moving pages is even more unwieldy. Since you can only move pages by dragging and dropping the bottom bar, and you can only move the bottom bar by clicking the left and right buttons, moving pages across…

  6. Add imported theme to "Switch Theme" menu

    The September 2018 desktop release made Switch Theme generally available. With it you can import a custom theme from a .json file.

    Once imported, the imported theme become active, but, even though there is a theme Name in the .json file, the new theme name is not added to the menu of choices and there is no indication that the theme with that name is now active.

    Please add imported themes to the menu and do something to highlight which theme is currently active.

  8. Customize Ribbon in Desktop (not Query Editor)

    Enable creation of custom groups within the Home Tab of the Ribbon. Allow users to remove certain icons and groups from the ribbon. This is available in Excel, and my Home tab is highly customized so that 95% of the icons I use are available in one place.

    I'm always flipping between the Modeling tab to format a measure, and then back to the Home tab to enter Query Editor.

    There are some icons that I've never used, and would like to replace them with more often used functions.

    Why not allow both to be on the same tab?

  9. Change the Home Table for DAX measures when connected to SSAS

    When connecting to a SSAS Tabular Model it is possible to write custom DAX measures, however once these measures are written you cannot change the "Home Table". (it is possible to rename the measures) The Home Table option is grayed out. Please enable moving DAX measures in a PBIX file to a different "Home Table".

  10. Improve Relationship Drag and Drop Experience

    In Power Pivot for Excel, when you drag and drop columns to create relationships, there experience is:
    1. Click and drag source column
    2. Hover over destination table
    3. The receiving column on the destination table is highlighted to indicate which column will receive the join.

    In Power BI Desktop, item 3 above is missing. It makes it ambiguous how the join will be made (and a poor user experience). Please add a visual confirmation to the user which column will receive the join during drag and drop.

  12. Cross filtering on multiple (custom) visuals

    Achieve cross filtering on multiple visuals (in addition to slicer ) in Power BI. After applying of additional filtering on one of the visual it would not reset already applied filtering on other visuals.

  14. Disable auto calculation of measures in desktop

    I would like the ability to temporarily disable the calculation of measures in PowerBI Desktop, something like the manual calculation option in Excel. I have large data models with dozens of measures each, and when I create a new measure it takes a long time to do. The more measures I add, the longer it takes.

  15. Spellchecker on PowerBi Desktop

    There is currently no spellchecker on the PowerBi Desktop it would be really handy to have one to check the spelling on custom labels.

  17. Hide all visual filters. Only show page or report filters by default

    We like the new filter pane, but are spending a lot of time hiding the filters for each visual. We only use the filters for the page. There should be a setting that by default only shows filters for the page or pages. And hides the filters for each visual.

  18. Able to view Report, Data and Model simultaneously

    Would be great to able to view the Report, Table and Data model all at the same time. I would assume that most people would be working with more than one monitor and find myself having to take a screenshot of the data model to reference when authoring DAX. Would be great if there was a way to have multiple views so people wouldnt have to either take screenshots for click back and forth.

    Would also be nice to have a separate window to enter in DAX as well.

  19. Grouping visuals in the selection pane like in the bookmark pane

    Recently the bookmark pane got updated with the ability to group bookmarks together. I'd really like to have such a feature for the visuals in the selection pane as well. This allows users to quickly toggle the visibility of a group of visuals.

  20. Allow to sort the drillthrough pages

    It would be nice if allow to sort the drill through pages. Currently we cannot change the sort order of the drill through pages and they show as the page created order.
