  1. Print option from Power BI Desktop

A print option for Power BI Desktop is required.

This will support design and development efforts by having a hard copy available for use in scenarios where online and real-time are not the best approach or even the most appropriate approach.

      • Create different slicers

Allow slicers to be created as drop downs, calendars, on/off switches etc. Let slicers contain multiple fields. Also allow user to specify that slicer can only have one value selected and set a default

Hi everyone. We’re making progress! We just shipped a dropdown slicer in our November update: https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/power-bi-desktop-november-feature-summary/

The other features requested here (multiple fields, one and only one value, relative date ranges etc.) are still being considered. We’ll keep working on them and will update you again as these features are finished!

          Thanks again for your support!

        • Matrix +/- Collapse/ Expand Buttons

Please add Collapse/Expand buttons in the Matrix Visualizations. Otherwise when all fields are expanded by default the user would have to scroll a lot to find what they are looking for. I could add a slicer to take user to the data they are looking for but then the rest of the data in the matrix disappears and more specifically the overall totals change!Expand/Collapse buttons would keep the overall totals as intended and totals for other fields while allowing the user to only expand the field they are interested in. Also ability to do conditional formatting for a specific field…

          • Power BI Desktop Auto Update

I'm shocked that I'm required to download a new version of Power BI every time you roll out updates. It's 2015, push those updates via the web to my desktop app, how hard can that be?

            • Create calculated measures on top of a live SSAS connection

Creating a live connection to SSAS MD or Tabular is working just fine. However, it would be very beneficial to have the ability to create new calculated measures (in MDX). Just like we can create our own calculated measures when writing an MDX query for a SSRS dataset.

              • Power BI Designer API

Power BI Designer saves a local PBIX file, which can be a file to export data and data model – in other words, it’s a format that contains a complete semantic model. All the applications that today export data in several formats (CSV, Excel, XML), might provide a richer semantic model exporting a PBIX file.

Many ISV/SI that have OLTP and other applications that stores data in some database, usually struggle to offer a compelling BI story to their customers. The smaller they are, the more they feel this pressure because probably the effort they can put in their custom…

                • Allow copy and paste between different PBIX's

Often we need to expand on an idea from one report further and copy and paste visuals/pages from one PBIX to another. This would be a huge productivity and quality benefit.

                  • Allow the creation of a Theme Pack

Allow for the creation of a corporate color theme pack. Same principle of styles in Excel: I define a set of styles (colors, fonts, background, format,...) and apply to my report items. For example, let me set the default slicer background color to a suitable shade so that all slicer created start with my default color settings. I would also like to be able to save me color scheme separately so that i can share it with colleagues to create a consistent feel.

                    • Change X and Y axis labels manually, similar to Excel

I think you should be able to type whatever you want into the X and Y axis to make up the title for them.
This seems like a simple feature and works really well in Excel.

When I have multiple fields in a chart the axis is long and ugly, where a simple edit should be available to shorten this down.

We are looking to improve our maps. A new Shape Map control is expected in the summer which will solve some of these issues.

                        • Measure Dependency View (similar to the Query Dependency View)

The newly introduced Query Dependency view is phenomenal but what we really need is a Measure Dependency view. Here is what it might look like: http://ppvt.pro/2eXKndh
And a video detailing this idea: https://youtu.be/sYjBB_Ef66M

In one of my production models I have 60 Queries, but I have 200+ measures! I believe that is typical; usually I build Queries and Measures as lego blocks, combining simpler ones into more complex ones needed in the end. In fact I needed it so badle that I attempted to build a Measure Dependency view using NodeXL. While that works, it's a lot of heavy lifting.…

                          • Power BI Designer and PowerShell better together

Are there any plans for Power BI Designer "better together" with PowerShell? I would be able to "Get Data -> PowerShell" where I would point designer to a PS script. Designer would execute PS script and resulting tables (one or more) would be loaded into data model.

I understand I can do it today via CSV files but that requires some additional steps (and creation of CSV files) compared to what I have in mind.

The ability to provide specify the Data Colour for each item in the Legend field. E.g. a column from the data source in which to specify the colour e.g. #A66999 for each item in the Legend field.

                              • Conditional formatted measures using SWITCH

A current limitation in Power BI SWITCH measures (and all Power Pivot actually) is that a SWITCH measure must have a single format. It is currently not possible to conditionally format the measure result based on any criteria - it is one single format only. There are valid use cases where you may want to change the format of the SWITCH measure depending on the result. Consider the following SWITCH statement
                                myMeasure = SUMX(MeasureTable,switch([selected measure],
                                1,[Total Sales],
                                2,[Total Cost],
                                3,[Total Margin],

                                ))
The first 3 results are all currency format, but the last result is…

                                  • Data Catalog integration in PowerBI Designer

The PowerBI Designer is missing integration with the Data Catalog and there is no online search functionality. The data catalog is a core component of the reporting solution so let me use it with the Power BI Designer

                                    • Allow more data points to be displayed on a map

I work in the Real Estate industry and receive requests to plot data points on map showing sales in which our company has participated. Everything went fine until I tried viewing all the data points and ended up with "Showing a Representative Sample". I would like the ability to show a minimum of 2500 data points

                                      • Support for importing from PowerPivots shared on O365 or SharePoint

Importing from Excel currently does not seem to support PowerPivot and requires a local path to the file.

                                        • Power BI Desktop - Connect to Enterprise Gateway Datasources

Currently its only possible to author reports on data you have direct access from within Power BI Desktop. Only after publishing to powerbi.com we can leverage the Enterprise Gateway functionality.
In my understanding the gateway-approach is all about to provide report-authors access to "enterprise" datasources without the need to know on which server they are published or if they have direct network connectivity to the datasource.
Of course the security settings done in gateway-configurtion should still apply (datasources are only available to users/groups with permissions assigned).

So my suggestion is to extend "Get Data" in Power BI Desktop:
                                          - Select…
