Option to use either light or dark interface.
New Desktop app update installed an almost white user interface. There is zero contrast which is not good for the eyes. I see where some people have requested a light interface so incorporate an option to select either light or dark theme like in the Office apps.

No Ctrl-Click on Buttons Needed for Bookmarks View Mode
When editing in Desktop, you have to Ctrl-Click a button to trigger the assigned action - very good. But when you have multiple bookmarks and you go into "View" mode, you are effectively in "PowerPoint Mode". When in this mode, there should be just a single click for a button (no ctrl needed).

Support creating calculation groups in Power BI Desktop
Support the creation of DAX calculation groups in Power BI Desktop - otherwise Power BI can only consume calculation groups created in Analysis Services, whereas it would be very useful to have this feature in any Power BI model.
Even just a simple text window with a script would be fine. You can clean up the UI later.

Add expand/collapse feature to column headers
Vote on this idea if you want expand/collapse on column headers in the matrix similar to what was shipped for row headers in November (https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/power-bi-desktop-november-2018-feature-summary/#expandCollapse).

Option to use comma as list separator and dot as a decimal point regardless of locale settings
Power BI Desktop has an editor that modifies the DAX code trying to respect the locale settings. This creates a number of issues in certain combinations of locale settings; because of that, there are bugs that have never been fixed when you have certain expressions
Moreover, respecting the syntax using locale settings creates additional issues when you copy/paste formulas in other tools that might not use the locale settings (not to mention community forums!).Please, consider adding an option to Power BI Desktop to use the standard comma (,) as list separator and dot (.) as decimal point for DAX…

Dark Theme/Alternate Color Desktop Themes
Enable a dark/black/gray theme for the various versions of BI; to enable ease of use.

Show column data profile statistics in header
Add a column data profile histogram in the data view for every column in Power BI Desktop. This handy feature exists in Power Query (sometimes only on sampled data).
Add this feature to Power BI Desktop as well, please.

Built in Git support in PowerBI Desktop
When you create a PowerBI report in Power BI Desktop it transparently create \ use a git repository. So you just worked normally, then when you hit publish, it actually push to remote.
Gitignore could be used to exclude data from being published to the repository. PowerBI would have version control which is desperately needed.
This would work well with the whole Microsoft buying Github \ Azure DevOps, both from the perspective of promoting good practices such as code version control and CI\CD - process of developing in development and promoting to UAT\production
It would also allow IT to get…

Customize visible items in new filter experience
The standard slicers have now a visual level filter, but the new filter experience does not have a similar feature. A correspondent "visual level filter" allowing to define conditions that make an item visible or not. in the new filter experience. The reasons are the same that justified visual level filter in standard slicers.

When showing subtotals at the bottom, show the attributes there as well and not on top
When I choose the option to show the subtotals at the bottom, I expect to see the attribute name there as well and not just on top. This is especially crucial for financial statements, like shown here: https://wp.me/p6lgsG-YC
An option to toggle between showing attributes at the bottom only or at the top as well would be ideal.

Create model KPIs in Power BI Desktop
KPIs can be defined in the Analysis Services model hosted by Power BI, but there's no UI to create them in Power BI Desktop.
The icon sets feature (https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/power-bi-desktop-july-2019-feature-summary/#iconSets) lets you define indicators with logic in the visual itself, but having that logic centrally defined in a model KPI lets you re-use it across visuals and even reports.

Composite models when connected to SQL Server Analysis Services Tabular (SSAS)
We really love the new feature of 'Composite Models' in the Power BI July 2018 update! This enables us to join custom lists with DirectQuery sources.
It would also be beneficial if this would also work when connected to SSAS Tabular in DirectQuery.
This would stronlgy improve the enterprise features of Power BI.1,337 votesHello Avi,

Better Handle Column Types on Load in Dimension Tables
When you load a dimension table (say a calendar table) in Power BI desktop, there are often lots of numeric columns that are not additive. Examples include Year, Month Number, Day of Week etc. By default (unless you set the data type to text) these numeric columns will have the default aggregation behaviour set to SUM. But they are not additive (of course). It would be much better to set these (dimension numeric columns) as "do not summarize". This could be managed in various ways that would be better than the current state. eg, you could simply mark all numeric…

Allow 'Search' within slicer filtering for non-text attributes
Text attributes can be 'searched' within report slicers. However, integers cannot. For example, if someone wants to quickly find and slice by a Customer Id, it is very cumbersome right now - lots of scrolling. A simple search by Customer Id (as an integer) within the slicer would make it much faster and a better user experience

Add Quick Access Toolbar to new Ribbon, or at least Save/Undo/Redo
The new ribbon introduced as a preview in the Nov 2019 release is really good, but it got rid of the Quick Access Toolbar that gave us persistent access to the Save, Undo, and Redo buttons no matter what ribbon was showing.
Now, there is no save button, and Undo/Redo are in the Home ribbon only, so you cannot access them with the mouse from the View, Modeling, or other ribbons.

Allow for rectangular imageUrl sizes in matrix and table visuals
Currently when you use a column or measure with a category of imageUrl that has an svg image Power BI ignores the aspect ratio defined in the view box for the image and draws the image in an arbitrary square. It would be great if imageUrl would allow for rectangular images. In the case of svg this could be read from the viewbox attribute.
This would allow for the creation of dynamic databars and sparklines and other creative visualizations without having to write a full blown custom visual.

Organizing Measures into Categories using Folders
Adding few measures to your data model in PowerBI could be easily managed, but what about adding tens or even hundreds of measures! Organizing those measure into categories using folders could help a lot.
To show you what I exactly mean, I will demonstrate the alternative way to create those folders using empty tables:
- Select "Enter Data" from the Home ribbon > Change the column name to "Id" and choose the table name e.g. "_Financial Measures" (Create all the tables)
- Select "New Measure" from the Modeling ribbon (Or choose any shortcut) > Type and create a new measure e.g. Total…

Move Measures Between Tables in New Modelling View
The new Modelling View was delivered in Nov 2018 and is fabulous. There is already a button to select all measures in a table - great. I would like to then move all the selected measures to another table, either by drag and drop or by selecting the home table in the properties list (just like you can do for formatting).

Measure-driven DataLabels
We need to be able to label specific data points with dynamically generated values (including text). Use cases include:
* Labeling the first or last point of line charts with values
* Labeling the last point of series in a line chart with the series name, to directly inform the user which series is which, rather than have them constantly move their eyes between a legend and the many series on a graph.
* Labeling particular values of interest, to aid storytelling. These things are bulk-standard features of good dashboard design, and are essential in order to design optimal user-friendly…

Measure Management & DAX Editor
Anyone who uses PowerBI long enough has had a PBIX with 50-60 measures and it has become time consuming and tedious to mantain. In Excel you can do a quick find/replace to edit several formulas - in PowerBI you need to select each one individually. An "excel-like" interface for editing measures would save a lot of time! This would take PowerBI to the next level regarding productivity. I've prepared a mockup for this as well as a DAX Editor. Let me know what you think.
