  1. Track usage when models are accessed using the Power BI Publisher Excel add-in

    Many of our users like to connect to Power BI models from within Excel using the Power BI Publisher Excel Add-in, but unfortunately, we lose all visibility on the true usage of Power BI.... It would be great to be able to track the number of connections each user makes to a report using the add-in. Thanks!

  3. Updating multiple workspaces keeping parameters the same

    We have multiple reports with more or less the same queries running. The difference is each report uses different parameters. When we're making a significant change to the reports, this requires then to be done in each report (or adjust each parameter in the correct version). Make it possible to update multiple reports by publishing this in multiple workspaces (but keep the existing parameters the same). This way version control on multiple reports is manageable and new functionalities can be added easily.

  4. Ability to add Screenshot in comments section of a Dashboard

    It would be a great add on, if you could add a screenshot to the comments Section. You can paste a screenshot & you see the screenshot, however after positing the comment the screenshot is not visibal enymore

  5. ability to adjust the width of Comment Fields in the Dashboard section

    It is great that you can paste scrennshots as comments, but you can not adjust the width of the Comment section, so you can´t see 100%of the screenshot you pasted

  6. Export visual as picture

    Having the ability to copy a visual (with applied highlighting) to paste into other applications would allow for reports to be written with narrative around each visual.

    If pasted into a Microsoft office application it could carry the link back to the relevant report (if permissions allowed) with the filters that feed the visual, essentially a bookmark link.

    Would be great if this would include all of the visual, rather than just what is displayed on screen, for example a matrix with all the rows. (Should also apply for printing)
    Could wrap the picture in a power bi branded frame…

  7. Provide further data for the O365 Adoption Preview API

    It would be great if in the O365 Adoption Preview, we could break down some of the data further. I would love to break down activity usage per department on a month-by-month basis, however it seems that with the way the data relationships are pulled in - the API doesn't allow for these breakdowns. I can either choose monthly overall activity usage for the whole organisation, or a company breakdown on only the last month's figures.

    The monthly data for previous months seem to consist of fixed, predetermined totals rather than figures allocated to specific users which prevents us from…

  8. Rename "Print" in Power BI service to "Print Screenshot"

    Lack of real printing is hurting adoption. Microsoft ignores this issue and keeps delivering features that a very tiny minority of users want/need. Printing affects everybody. Not everybody walks around with a fully charged laptop / tablet all day. FIX PRINTING NOW AND BURY TABLEAU FOREVER! Or don't

  9. Use Power BI Service as a 'Linked Server' (to use it in SSRS / KPI Snapshots / ... )

    It would be of added value if the 'Power BI Service' can be added as a 'Linked Server' in SQL Server.
    This would enable SSRS report builders to use it as a datasource and to build SSRS reports on it (= using DAX in OPENQUERY modus in SQL Statements). Additionally, also snapshots of measures can be saved in SQL Server.

    Background info: I have already build countless of reports in SSRS using Analysis Services as a source (both using the SSAS connection as well as using OpenQuery). One of the advantage is that you can join the result of multiple…

  10. Alert to users when a new report/dashboard have been publish

    Same as your banner where you notified to us every update on the mobile app "What's new"; How about to have a banner (on the web version) "What's new in this App"? but from analysts/report developers to managers.

    In other words, every time we 'Update app' from the Workspace, the users would know what reports and/or dashboards are new.

  11. About region information acquired by "Microsoft 365 Usage Analytics"

    There is "板橋区 " in the Japanese region, but also "板橋区" in Taipei.
    In "Microsoft 365 Usage Analytics", "板橋区" of the Japanese region is mapped to Taipei.
    This is because the City of Office 365 account information is "板橋区".
    I want you to accurately mapping this data to "板橋区" in Japan without changing this data.

  12. grouping the visuals or feilds to make it as one visual

    we have the grouping functionality in excel, we can group multiple visuals to one and we can group multiple fields like combining multiple into one

  13. Allow *FREE* Email Subscriptions for content hosted in Premium capacity

    Please allow email notifications to be free for consumers of content hosted on Premium capacity. We bought Premium capacity to communicate to our external partners, but right now if they want to subscribe to updates, they each need to buy a Pro license. This will inhibit our ability to drive adoption with our partners, and ultimately, may even hinder our ability scale this internally.

  14. allow pushing of Power BI Apps to azure AD B2B guest users

    Currently, it's not possible to push Power BI Apps to users who are Azure AD B2B guest users. Please enable this capability! It would greatly speed adoption with our suppliers.

  15. Devops Process

    There is currently no clear, built-in system for source control, test, gated approval and release of new reports.

    If you have admin rights, you have god mode. Use it with caution.

    As a result, IMHE analysts teams are likely to learn the hard way about all the reasons why formal IT teams have developed governance controls for software development and release.

    I can imagine this becoming a functionality of Power BI Premium since it's an enterprise type feature.

    I can imagine a scenario where the reports authors publish to a project in VSTS . Then VSTS' build environment runs unit…

  16. Allow admins to control which users' identities are exposed in per-user usage metrics

    Usage metrics now expose per-user information - i.e. the names of the users that are accessing dashboards and reports.

    Allow admins control which users' names and info are picked up by the feature. In other words, admins can choose to "anonymize" certain sets of users so that their names do not appear in usage metrics.

  17. "Copy to workspace" functionality for Apps

    Currently it seems that it's impossible for end-users to access the dataset in Power BI - only in Excel! That's kinda crazy - please enable similar "copy to workspace" functionality as content packs.
    In particular, it should be possible for users to copy a report from an App and customize it - we need this for several use cases.

  20. Friendly query list when connecting to SAP BW

    When users connect to a SAP BW data source they are presented with the SAP BW back-end InfoArea hierarchy. This is highly technical in nature and often not primarily designed to be user facing but instead used to manage layered data architectures, security, etc.

    Given this, it would be desirable to be able to present an alternative information architecture; a curated, more user friendly layout of queries that are meaningful for analysis in Power BI.

    Without such a friendly, understandable structure – there can be difficulty in a user finding information and hence potential adoption issues for BW data sources.…
