  1. Add Table calculation DAX functions

If we want to get previous row value / get percentage difference of some measure for current row with respect to previous row or 2nd previous row then we need to write lot of dax code.

These operations have to be performed at the very end (after sorting) as previous row context might be changed depending on sorting

In Tableau, this is very easy and can be done in few clicks. A developer can do this one in powerbi with knowledge on DAX but for business users it might become very complex.

To take PowerBI next level, can you please…

  2. Allow use of case weights

Market researchers (and others, I'm sure) often have to weight the respondents in their data sets to be representative of the target population. Weights for each respondent can be easily calculated and then added as a column to the data table. However after this point they are difficult to use, especially when there are numerous variables in the data you would wish to visualize. Other software such as Q, SPSS and Displyr allow you to use this weight variable to apply a coefficient that makes each respondent count as more or less than one. This would be very useful for…

  3. Dynamic category reading a date slicer

Enabling to create date periods from a slicer.

For example, I have a date slicer and define/calculate from it a start and end date for both a previous and post period (pre/post analysis).

I would like to be able to create a period category or column that dynamically change regarding the pre/post status.

The options would be the following :
Pre / Post / Out of range

  4. Add Additional Number Format Options

It would be great to have a few additional number formatting options. For dates for instance it would be useful to have DD MMM YY or various other combos of this.

Also, I have been building cards to highlight variance. It would be great if there were number formatting options to include + as well as - values for numbers. For instance, I may want to show +£250 rather than just £250. Combined with conditional formatting this would make changes clear at a quick glance (e.g. a red +£250 would be an increase on something we want to go down).…

  5. Support Drillthrough Actions for analysis in Excel, as with SSAS

Would make for a nice interplay between slice/dice data discovery in Excel and drilling through to a related report in the browser.

  6. Graphics options

I suggest that as on excel, we have quite the same options for all the graphs, It will be great to have all option ( I mean for axis, background, lines,...) for all the graphs.
Because now the options depend on the type of graphics but some options on one graph can be usefull for an other.

  7. Include Firebase Realtime Database in "GET DATA" list in PowerBI

Firebase will soon become google's mobile app tracking metrics. However, it's not available in you "Get Data" list.

  11. Normalized line chart

Where several lines are plotted on a line chart it is sometimes helpful to normalize these to the same start value in order to compare relative variation over time, rather than the absolute value.

For example, stock or share prices of two companies can't directly be compared, but if they are both normalised to 100 at the same start date you can then compare relative variation over time.

The formula for a plot might be
    x axis = [date]
    y axis = [value] / [value at earliest [date]] * 100

if [earliest value] is dynamic this cannot be achieved with…

  15. For line charts, please can you allow for two Y axes like in PowerPoint?

I want to be able to use two axes, to allow for a number on one side and % on the other.

  16. SSRS recursive parent implement in PowerBI

In SSRS you can easily create hierarchy by having parent-child connection. In PowerBI we need to do lot of steps to have same result.

  17. Allow Access to Usage Metrics Data through REST API

We are looking to access Data captured under Usage Metrics through the REST API.

This would allow developers to develop custom solutions (like automated reports that are sent out) which combine usage metrics data along with metadata from another source like a ERP system (ex. Workday).

  18. disable analyze in excel for specific reports in workspace

in workspace setting or report setting please provide option for disabling analyse in excel, in some cases we do not want user to access all the data but just the data which is visible on the report page.

  19. filtros

Con el nuevo panel no se pueden vincular las paginas entre los filtros, es decir, si tengo varias paginas y realizo un filtro en la primera, debería de haber un opción para que se vinculen y este filtro afecte a las demás.

  20. more formatting options for trend lines

Excel trend lines have much more functionality and customization options. Please enable these types of formatting (e.g. ability to change width) in Power BI
